Copy of 127 Telogen Effluvium Regrowth Signs

TE or Telogen Effluvium is a condition that causes hair loss. Most people are not aware that they are already suffering from Telogen Effluvium but know that this is the second common cause of hair loss. The good news is hair loss due to TE is not permanent and there are a lot of ways to treat it and control the damage.

TE symptoms

Here are some of the common symptoms that you are having TE regrowth signs:

  • Hair thinning is becoming visible
  • Hair thinning appears in different places or scalp areas
  • Hair thinning often affects the top part
  • Hairs in your eyebrows and private area are falling out

Telogen Effluvium is caused by different factors such as environment, hormones, your current medical condition and the treatment you are having, and diet. In terms of diet, lack of vitamins and nutrients in the body is one of the contributors of TE. For medications, depression and stress can cause TE yet there are antidepressant medications that can also lead to hair loss.

The Hair Growth Cycle

The hair growth cycle has three phases – Anagen, Catagen, and Telogen. The first phase, Anagen, is also the longest phase. Anagen is the phase where the cells in our scalps are growing and divide to produce more hair strands. This is the part where hair grows depending on their terminal length. The usual growth during this phase is one centimeter in 28 days.

The second phase is Catagen or the phase where club hair is formed. In this phase, some hair strands stop growing even if they hadn’t reached their terminal length yet. The active hair in this phase stops ceasing and shrinks down.

The last stage is the Telogen phase where the hair strands are in its terminal length and are at rest. It is won’t be growing anymore. At this stage, the hair stays for up to 100 days. They said that every day, a person loses up to 100 Telogen hairs. When you are losing more than 100 Telogen hair strands in a day, then TE occurs.

Treating TE

The success of a Telogen Effluvium treatment depends on the cause of TE. Identifying the cause is the most important part of the treatment. To date, TE treatments are divided into three parts – having a healthy diet, reducing stress, and using medications.

Having a healthy diet is the first recommendation that dermatologists offer to their TE patients. With a good diet, you can easily improve your hair growth and reduce more hair loss in the future. A good diet as recommended by your doctor can also improve hair regrowth.

Because stress is one of the major contributors to hair loss, it is important to avoid stress and anything that can make you sad or too tired. Stay happy and keep a balanced lifestyle. If you are getting tired of working, take a leave and have some rest. Lastly, if your TE is too severe and nothing works, you should ask your doctor for prescription medications. There are a lot of trusted TE drugs that can help bring the glow and thickness back in your scalp and hair.
