Copy of 130 Normal Hairline Vs Receding

Telling the difference between a normal hairline and a receding hairline is easy if you are looking at young individuals. this is a bit more difficult if you are going to look at two elderly men.

A normal hairline in women appears like an upside-down letter ’U’ at least 2 centimeters above the eyebrow. For men, it is at least 2.4 inches above their eyebrows too. A man’s hair normally progresses or recede for about 0.8 centimeters to 1.6 centimeters and this is still considered as a normal hairline. A man’s hairline will mature between the age of 17 to 27 and this will show the permanent frontal hairline shape. A healthy mature hairline among men will stay in its shape for years and you would know that you are suffering from receding hairline of it is moving up at a steady pace in a short period of time.

How to Recognize Receding Hairline

Distinguishing a normal hairline and a receding hairline can be tricky unless you are aware of what to look for. Every day, we lose up to 100 strands of hair yet there are more prominent signs that can help you recognize if you are losing more than the normal amount of hair. Here are some of the things to watch out for:

  • Keep a keen eye to your crown – don’t focus on your hairline, check your crown too. Is it getting thinner? Sometimes diminishing of the hair begins at the crown then moves down to the hairline
  • Check the amount of hair loss you are having daily – male pattern baldness can lead to more hair fall every day. Check your bed and pillow regularly. Check your comb or comb your hair with your hand, are you getting hair falls?
  • Hair loss is caused by a lot of things, are you not suffering from any of it? – always do a self-check to determine if you are living a healthy lifestyle that won’t cause you losing your hair. Are in a lot of stress lately at work? Then take a break
  • Genetics – ask your parents if your family is prone to baldness or if it male-pattern baldness runs in the family. If yes, you can start to fight it at a young age by changing lifestyle and watching out for your hair on a regular basis
  • Diet – poor nutrition can lead to insufficiencies in the scalp and follicles and if you are living with an unhealthy diet and notices a lot of hair falls lately, perhaps it is time to change your attitude towards food

Preventing Having a Receding Hairline

Hair loss is a natural phenomenon, and no one can stop it. Even if live healthily today and use all-natural and chemical free hair products, we will still lose our hair due to old age. However, if you are prone to hair loss due to your stressful work environment or it is in your genetics, then you can do something to slow down your hairline from receding.

If you are noticing that your hairline or crown is no longer normal, you can start by washing your hair regularly, using conditioner, taking vitamins and supplements that are good for your hair and scalp, and cutting back vices such as smoking and drinking. Remember that it is easier to stop hair loss than lose it completely then do something to recover it.
